I understand that the care commission is now obliged to be self-funding. That policy has been endorsed by the Parliament, as is explained in our papers.
That brings up the prospect of having standing advisers. Although some flexibility is needed for each issue and the committee might want to have an individual expert on a matter, is there an argument for having four or five retained advisers?
I have to speculate about that, but my guess is that part-time students have more flexibility to find work that would help them to overcome financial difficulties.
