I am not entirely sure, but I believe that the bidding process to the Scottish Government to get funding for any of the campaigns has to be evidence led: if people do not have the evidence, they will not get the funding to carry out any of the drink-driving campaigns or anything else.

The research base for diagnosing foetal alcohol syndrome is still being developed but current evidence indicated a number of different points in a child''s development at which foetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) can be diagnosed, up to the age of 12.
We had a website so that people could find information about how the awareness campaign was developing and how they could engage with it.We were delighted by the take-up by young people.
That does not take into account the fact that the more hypoglycaemic episodes somebody has, the more likely they are to develop complications. Dorothy Farquharson can explain about her retinopathy.
We are also encouraging NHS boards to develop their community based intensive outreach services in order to enable children and young people to return to their own communities at an earlier stage of their recovery.
