Supported by: Ross Greer*, Richard Leonard* *S5M-07186 Mark Ruskell: Macrobert Arts Centre, Living Wage Accreditation That the — Parliament congratulates Macrobert Arts Centre on receiving its accreditation as a Living Wage Employer by the Scottish Living Wage Accreditation Initiative; believes that paying the real living wage helps businesses recruit and retain better staff, reduce absenteeism and encourage higher productivity; notes that the current living wage is £8.45 per hour, which is significantly higher than the statutory minimum for over 25s of £7.50 per hour and, as a result, helps tackle in-work poverty; understands that the commitment ensures that both direct employees and third party contracted staff employed by the University of Stirling-based arts centre will receive the living wage, and wishes the centre and its staff every success in the future.
