Therefore it may be incorrect to attempt to derive numbers of “attemptedsuicide”.We have however provided datafor hospital discharges for children under 16, which have been coded as either deliberateself-harm or undetermined intent.
Why do we do that, and does it have a purpose? Section 6.3.11 of the code of conduct states:“The Committee will also consider whether the purpose of a proposed Group overlaps the remit of an existing Group.
Our policy intention is very clear and reflects what is set out in "Supporting Children's Learning: Code of Practice". The purpose of additional support is to allow children and young people to benefit from school education.
In addition to that, most of the acts of the Scottish Parliament include codes of practice, so such legislation cannot be scrutinised without scrutinising those codes.
