Scottish Water’s climate change adaptation plan identifies the following key risks with climate change:
Warmer, drier summers that can lead to drought and deteriorating water quality.
Safety should always take priority over cost-cu�ng, outsourcing and profiteering but RMT is concerned that the Government and Network Rail are not properly taking into account the extreme risks facing us today by ageing infrastructure coupled with climate change and regular extreme weather events.

Scottish Government Response on Fuel Poverty Targets
In response to the request for the Social Justice and Social Security Committee to contribute to scrutiny of the Climate Change Plan, the Committee sought an update from the Scottish Government on its fuel poverty targets.
At our next meeting on 5 June, and subject to the publication of our report, the committee will take evidence from the Scottish Government’s European Union environment and climate change roundtable.

The Scottish Government is aware of the research by the University of Cambridge and the University of the Highlands and Islands and recognises that the use of lead in ammunition continues to pose risks to human health, wildlife, and the environment.
