And, more specifically, there may not be a threat of genuine violence that could be avoided if it were attempted, but it may be that the accused facing conviction may have had their position of vulnerability abused, their loved ones may be under threat or subject to debt bondage, as may the accused be also, or they may have been held and kept as extremely socially isolated, with - arguably - no genuine way to get away.
