Official Report Meeting date: 2 February 2006

Plenary, 02 Feb 2006

I am happy to provide the member with information following that meeting. The Carron valley forest, which is partly in my constituency, is on many people's doorstep and serves a very large urban population in central Scotland.
Official Report Meeting date: 14 December 2005

Education Committee, 14 Dec 2005

There is on-going negotiation between local authorities and the Executive on how local authorities should follow the guidance. We have a role, but it is clear that we must not mislead any of the parents who are interested in proceedings.
Official Report Meeting date: 27 October 2005

Plenary, 27 Oct 2005

Even if we accept the good will of the Executive on the issue, three important questions remain to be answered following the recent comments in the media by Tony McNulty, a UK minister, who almost rubbished the idea of a protocol.

Official Report Meeting date: 24 May 2005

European and External Relations Committee, 24 May 2005

I will go along with the convener's suggestion, but some of the timescales in our report were over the top with respect to the minister meeting the deadlines.
Official Report Meeting date: 27 April 2005

Plenary, 27 Apr 2005

The schoolchildren were our constant companions and followed us everywhere. Because the village was so isolated, the children were fascinated by our digital cameras, CD players and torches—in fact, they were fascinated by anything electronic.
Official Report Meeting date: 21 April 2005

Plenary, 21 Apr 2005

When they make that assessment, they must make the decisions that are required. I hope that the Parliament will follow their advice. I wish to make the First Minister aware of the genuine concerns of local businesses, community representatives and shopkeepers in the area around the Parliament and throughout the city centre about the potential disruption to ...
Official Report Meeting date: 22 March 2005

Health Committee, 22 Mar 2005

We have taken the view that, because of the guidance that we follow within the Executive in preparing the instruments, that reference should go in a footnote.
Official Report Meeting date: 2 March 2005

Public Petitions Committee, 02 Mar 2005

The issue in North Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire usually comes down to in-service training days for schools—the South Lanarkshire schools may be on holiday one Monday and the North Lanarkshire ones on the following Monday. That is a matter of days, but mid-term breaks in the east of Scotland are in an entirely different week from those in the west.
