The UK has treaty obligations and duties in international law to respond appropriately when a situation involving a serious risk of genocide arises. The ministerial code, under which I operate, at section 1.7 lays a clear responsibility on all ministers to comply with “international law and treaty obligations”.
I also highlight that, as outlined in the updated “Highway Code”, people “MUST NOT ... ride in a dangerous, careless or inconsiderate manner” when cycling, and “MUST obey all traffic signs and traffic light signals.”
Motions agreed to, That the Parliament agrees that the Scottish Biometrics Commissioner Act 2020 (Code of Practice) (Appointed Day) (Scotland) Regulations 2022 draft be approved.
However, it must contain specific and achievable targets. There are already a lot of codes of conduct and initiatives in place that are helping to achieve such responsibilities.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 Code of Practice published in 2005 is the most recent Scottish Government code of practice for that Act.

The 87 responses are currently being analysed.Those views will inform the redrafting of the code in coming months and considerationwill be given to how best to ensure that the code is embedded into practice.
