LGBT+ people are diverse, with different ‘protected characteristics’, and are also able to inform positive policy development. In reviewing the literature, an overly negative depiction of LGBT+ lives can sometimes emerge as inequalities are depicted in terms of negative impacts, arguably entrenching a representation of LGBT+ lives as ‘at risk’.
