I was surprised because the Crown Office had said the diametrically opposite thing two weeks ago in relation to the evidence that had been submitted and published in The Spectator magazine. It is somewhat of a surprise to find out that the Crown Office adopted a different view to the evidence before this committee from the one that it adopted two weeks ago to the evidence that was published in a magazine.

Just yesterday, I heard a new example of the police force in Glasgow doing just that. Holyrood magazine reported that, through the delivery of a 12-month plan, police officers in Glasgow are to be trained to signpost drug addicts to places where they can get recovery support.
