We have had constructive discussions, and a lot of projects are already in the pipeline—we are supporting them with investment from the Scottish National Investment Bank. If there is other investment support from GB energy or the national wealth fund, we will welcome that and we will work collaboratively to produce a good outcome for Scotland.
Consultation on the land reform and model lease measures in this Bill opened on 4 July 2022 and closed on 30 October 2022. Land Reform in a Net Zero Nation set out proposals for inclusion in the Bill and asked 51 questions about those proposals.
This showed signs of improvement in 2020 but dropped away in 2021 and then took a bigger step for the worse in 2022. This worsened again slightly in 2023.

In order to ensure the safety of its contractors, Scottish Water has had to re-evaluate how the new sewer is installed under the river Tweed following the discovery of an unexpected obstruction within the river bank. It is working closely with SEPA and the contractor on these revised plans.

We discussed a range of issues including the Green Investment Bank, support for Scotland’s oil and gas sector, City Region deals, and Scotland’s financial services sector.
Environmental Standards Scotland air quality investigation (and Scottish Government Improvement Plan) In September 2022, Environmental Standards Scotland (ESS - Scotland’s environmental standards watchdog) published an Air Quality Investigation Improvement Report which investigated arrangements in place in Scotland to meet statutory limits for NO .
These payments followed interim payments of £100,000 to infected people and bereaved partners in October 2022. We have worked since with the UK Government to ensure that the estates of those who sadly died are now also able to claim interim payments of £100,000.
There may be scope to utilise some of the indicators already contained within the Housing and Regeneration Outcomes Framework, which covers the following themes: • A Well-Functioning Housing System • High Quality, Sustainable Homes • Homes that Meet Peoples Needs • People Live in Sustainable Communities Please note that the indicators within this Framework have not been updated since November 2022, as Officials plan to update the list of indicators following the review of National Outcomes.
Police Scotland discussed this with Scottish Government and provided a written response in October 2022 authored by our Chief Legal Officer, Duncan Campbell advising of a number of reasons that this would not be appropriate or viable.
