The members of the Justice 2 Committee deserve praise for their hard work in following those many jumps in committee.I am pleased that the passing of the bill will mean the introduction of lifetime supervision of sex offenders, which was a key recommendation of the MacLean report and has been SNP policy since long before that report.

There will not even be the opportunity to transfer back into rural areas a reasonable amount of the money that is raised by the new tax. To put it simply, we have to follow the Northern Ireland model. Politicians should stand up for Scotland and look for a derogation that will not damage the economy.
