I would hope that it would emerge that the Wemyss caves were such an area, as the drawings in the caves are the oldest in Scotland—I do not know whether they are the oldest in the United Kingdom. Tam Dalyell and many others have written about them in great detail, and he and others have supported their protection.
That would help to keep us abreast of what they are doing, and would be in their interests too.I feel that we are undertaking too many inquiries at one time. I accept that, but we are getting into the dangerous area of changing our decisions meeting by meeting.
