On Mary Scanlon’s question about the measure of efficiency, the 26-week measure gives an important indication of performance on the overall time taken from charge to verdict, but it is not related to any form of input—it is purely an output.

Finally, like Jenny Marra, I would like to know whether the colleges will get their fair share. I am grateful to Mary Scanlon for her support. I know that she has tracked the work of the Wood commission from its very early days and has attended and participated in a number of events with stakeholders, which is certainly appreciated.
