As a close friend and colleague of Marie, I can testify to the comfort that the hospice provided not just to her mother, but to Marie, her sister and her family, which was of great significance to them at the time, which they still remember and which they will, I am sure, remember for the rest of their lives.

In 1999, I and a number of other MSPs including Mr McGrigor took part in the Edinburgh festival fringe, where Mr McGrigor's rendition of "Hairy Mary" was a stunning success, possibly because it starred the Presiding Officer wearing fishnet tights.
