Justice 2 Committee, 04 Mar 2003

Plenary, 19 Dec 2002

At present, the deadline for answering written questions that are lodged in the second week before the summer recess falls in the first week of the parliamentary recess, when many Executive staff are on leave. That can lead to more holding answers.

Official Report Meeting date: 27 June 2002

Plenary, 27 Jun 2002

Many of those crimes are committed by young offenders. In his action plan, the First Minister says that you...
Official Report Meeting date: 20 June 2002

Plenary, 20 Jun 2002

Would it be possible for the Scottish Parliament to legislate on and take responsibility for the changes that are proposed? We discuss many issues, some of which are less serious than closing loopholes in the legislation that deals with sex offender orders.
Official Report Meeting date: 18 June 2002

Public Petitions Committee, 18 Jun 2002

We should encourage that, as cost is the big barrier for many people. Secondly, as sheriffs have a lot of flexibility and discretion in awarding custody and considering access rights, could we write to the Sheriff Principals Association, asking it to read these papers and comment on whether sheriffs would at least look sympathetically at the case of a child...
Official Report Meeting date: 23 April 2002

Public Petitions Committee, 23 Apr 2002

We have welcomed 130 groups from primary schools, 232 groups from secondary schools and 10,000 individual pupils through the official visits programme of the Parliament. There have also been many self-guided tours. The Scottish youth parliament was launched in 1999 and has attracted some 150 members from among young people in the 14-to-25 age category.
