We must work with all who oppose the proposed irrelevant measure to persuade all those who still need persuading at Westminster—whether lord or commoner—to ditch the proposal and to ditch it now.I also wish to place on record Labour members support for the Hooper reports recommendation that the UK Government take responsibility for the Royal Mails pension deficit. That deficit followed an extended contributions policy that was started by the previous Conservative Government—if people can remember that far back.
