I will ask the pubs code adjudicator, who has an important role to play in that process, to consider how enforcement is to be approached in the code’s early period of operation, given that awareness-raising work still needs to be undertaken.
Respondents were generally supportive of the draft code and its intentions. The feedback that we gathered has been instrumental in refining the draft code.
The guidance on the code of conduct makes it clear that its provisions in relation to how members conduct themselves apply in relation to activity on social media, subject to the overall scope of the code.

I believe that, where a code of practice is associated with legislation, the work on such a code should be done through consultation once the bill is passed.
