*S6M-11133 Beatrice Wishart: Shetlander Sharon Deyell’s Swapshop Raises More than £10,000 for CLAN Cancer Support—That the Parliament congratulates the Shetlander, Sharon Deyell, on raising over £10,000 for CLAN Cancer Support through her swapshop event; understands that Sharon’s long-running swapshop event allows people to pick up clothes and accessories in return for a donation; further understands that Sharon decided to donate the money to CLAN Cancer Support following the support that she received from the charity while receiving treatment for breast cancer in 2022; notes that the recent event saw the highest amount of clothes donated since the start of the swapshop events, with locals giving up hundreds of bags of clothes at various drop-off points across Shetland; pays tribute to the generosity of Shetlanders with their donations of clothes and donations to CLAN; praises the work of CLAN Cancer Care in supporting Shetlanders, particularly in providing accommodation to islanders who need to travel to Aberdeen for treatment; commends Sharon for creating the swapshop event and enabling benefits to the community through the event itself and through the impact of the donations to CLAN, and wishes her well in her future endeavours.
