(3) A person commits an offence if the person signs the same recall petition as proxy for the same person more than once. (4) A person commits an offence if the person signs a recall petition as proxy for another person knowing that the other person has already signed the petition in person or by 10 post. 1 13 Penalties for double signing offences (1) A person who commits an offence under section 12 is liable, on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale. (2) The court that sentences a person for an offence under section 12 must also impose an 15 electoral-restrictions order on the person, unless the court is satisfied that in the circumstances of the case it would not be appropriate to do so.
