Thank you. I wrote to the minister before recess and I await a reply. One of my reasons for writing was my concern that the new Terrorism Bill will have a direct operational effect on the prioritising of resources in Scotland.
Christine Grahame asked a question at First Minister's question time just before the recent recess. The First Minister was extremely negative about the approach to Scottish Borders Council, emphasising that this is the council's problem.
It should begin when the decision is notified to the applicant. If the starting date is the date on which the decision is made and the applicant is not notified of the decision until later, the 60-day period is eroded. The lack of clarity in the provisions could be a source of problems.
It would be good to ask it for its views on the petition and to have a briefing after the recess. Are you talking about the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman?
It never ceases to amaze me how time catches up and how everybody tends to use the end date as the target date. Also, we cannot do too much organising of resources even earlier in the piece.
