For example, people may not turn up to their out-patient appointment just because the bus does not turn up to pick them up.There are difficult issues, which are intractable in lots of ways, but given that health and social care need increasingly to be managed together there are a lot of opportunities to start managing the transport for some services together too. To date, a lot of the work around that has been largely around individual budget heads but, with the move towards better integration of those services, there is no reason why bodies could not get their budgets aligned as well, so that they could make more efficient use of their money.
