We have talked about the new data layers that we are getting and the new information systems in which we can put those layers together, and part of the aim is to bring together those new data sets to start focused SRDP targeting.

Judging by what has been achieved to date by cities in the competition—for example, Derry/Londonderry in 2013, which I thought was absolutely fantastic—and what is planned for the future with Hull in 2017, the potential benefits are significant, so it was very welcome news that Perth and Kinross Council was putting together a bid for Perth for 2021.

I confirm today that we are on track for that start date for payments. The first payment run to approximately 25 per cent of farmers will get under way before Christmas, with payments beginning to arrive in farmers’ accounts before the new year.
