One reason for holding this inquiry is that we believe that improving our export record is one way of getting Scotland out of the recession. However, the record to date suggests that we are going in the wrong direction rather than the right direction.

I hope that, once we get past the landmark date in September, regardless of the outcome, parties across the chamber will start to work much more closely together for communities and for Scotland.
Although we do not have a specific completion date, we hope that a new place standard will be agreed by the end of this year and that it can then be rolled out to local authority colleagues.
