There are a number of reasons why patients may be returned to their GP many to do with patient behaviour for example a patient has not attended their appointment or have for the third time cancelled their agreed appointment date. GPs can of course re-refer any patient back to the hospital.

This project will be supported by a £1.8 million Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) from Scottish Enterprise. To date £80,000 has been paid. All job numbers associated with RSA grants are the company’s forecast figures, and are subject to change depending on future economic conditions and other factors affecting the businesses concerned.

The liability for the repayment of all debt outstanding at the transfer date will be met by the new bodies. The current level of funding for repayment of the debt will also transfer to the Scottish Police Authority and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
