It is because of the Scottish Government’s investment, and the recognition of the importance of infrastructure to Fife, that we now have a new Queensferry crossing. In 2010, Sir John Chilcot, who has the final say over the timing of the inquiry at all stages, rightly ordered a recess to avoid influencing the general election but we are in danger of allowing that to happen now.
