I will not go into all the debates around unilateral nuclear disarmament, but I will say that we live in a country that we are told is heading for a double-dip recession and in which people are being asked to make financial sacrifices, yet we are also told that we can afford to replace the nuclear weapons that are supposedly needed to defend us.
