Regional fairs, each with their own place on the calendar, have a long history in Scotland, with many dating back centuries. They are a colourful component of Scottish life.
Section 41(3)b of the Landfill Tax (Scotland) Act 2014 states that such an order—
ceases to have effect at the expiry of the period of 28 days beginning with the date on which it was made unless, before the expiry of that period, the order has been approved by resolution of the Parliament.
Duration of the section 1 power
The Bill as introduced provided that the Scottish Ministers' power to keep pace expired ten years from the date it came into force. In addition, Scottish Ministers could , on a rolling basis, extend that 10-year period by periods of up to five years.

No statutory Regional Marine Plans have been published to date.
A common theme emerging from evidence gathered by the Committee was dissatisfaction among stakeholders over slow progress in establishing Marine Planning Partnerships and the development of Regional Marine Plans.
Piecemeal incorporation – where different rights are incorporated on a piecemeal basis through legislation; effectively the approach taken by the Scottish Government to date.
The Scottish Government has opted for direct incorporation in the Bill.

The Policy Note also explains that the amendment in respect of theatres and concert halls is intended to allow “preparatory work to take place ahead of 14 September which is currently the indicative date for the re-opening of theatres and concert halls".
It would, however, allow sex to be added at a later date by secondary legislation. The issues in this area are discussed later in this briefing under the heading of Power to add Sex to Hate Crime Characteristics.
