Just to provide some clarification, I point out that the supplementary financial memorandum was published on 31 January. As there was a recess, we did not really have an opportunity to discuss or take evidence on it before today.
Section 1(2) states that the first report must be submitted by 30 November 2026, and that subsequent reporting periods will run for periods of 5 years from that date.
Section 1(4) provides that the Scottish Ministers may amend section 1(2) in order to substitute another time-period or to specify a date (or dates) by which one or more subsequent reports must be submitted.
Interestingly, just before the October recess I was able to raise the issues arising from these petitions directly with the First Minister at the most recent convener’s group meeting.
I made a couple of visits during recess. I visited Glasgow Kelvin College, which is in my constituency, and went with the Finance and Public Administration Committee last week to visit the University of Dundee.
