The advantage that we have in diabetes is the ability to detect and monitor those hard outcomes and see where the approach is being effective. The problem to date has been the ability to define success—that has been challenging.

My questions are about part 2 of the bill, which covers modernisation of the forestry functions and brings the Forestry Act 1967 up to date. What is your view of the modernisation of the forestry functions in the bill?
That it has taken a few years to get things done is nothing to be ashamed of, but now is the time to bring Scots law up to date. We have, to some extent, copied the Scottish approach; maybe you are now going to follow us.
