Although we have a broad idea of the membership, we obviously want the chair’s input on that. Is there any end date for the work that the group will carry out?
However, as the furlough scheme ends and eviction protections come to an end at some point in the future—no absolute date for that has been given—we are likely to see a big impact on services.
We would welcome consideration of how courts can regularly keep children up to date. Decisions need to be made about how that should happen and who should do it, and it will need resources.
We also considered our work programme and agreed that, at some future date, particularly given today’s scrutiny, we would invite the chief constable and the chair of the Scottish Police Authority to give evidence.
What gives me a greater degree of confidence is the fact that we have individual taxpayer data, dated though it be, and that allows us to get a better and richer understanding of income tax receipts.
