Because the size of one-off events varies so much from year to year, building an assumption into the budget would have quite a big impact on whether we were over or under budget. As I said, in my experience to date, the Government has been supportive of our requests and has provided us with the funding that we have needed to cover our costs.

There is a bit of an issue, because “single transaction” has not been defined in the legislation, so one issue is whether there could be different completion dates. “Linked transactions” is a technical term, which means any transactions between the same seller and purchaser or persons connected with them.
