To ask the Scottish Government which (a) river catchment areas and (b) lochs are covered by protection orders, and when each order (i) was lodged and (ii) will expire. 14 Protection Orders have been made under Schedule 3 of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 2003. They have no end date until they are revoked. It is important that there is unanimity across the chamber about what the bill will do in changing the date of the Scottish Parliament election and the date of the local government election.

Therefore, in order to not overshoot the target, recruitment was slowed down. As a result, the target date for reaching 15,000 individuals tested per fortnight was moved from the beginning of November to the middle of November.
We are doing our business planning for the next financial year but, ideally, I would like to get something to you before the summer recess, because the issue is important to me and needs to be looked at early.
I am happy to support the creation of the group but I suggest that we pencil into our work programme, perhaps towards the end of the first year of the session—just before the summer recess next year—a session where we take an overview of how CPGs are working in general and how broad their external memberships are.
There will be an inflationary impact on these figures depending on the date of commencement.
