I do not actually think that that is the case, Mr Mundell. I would have to look at all the dates. There is a logical inconsistency in Mr Mundell’s point.
As the petitioner has said, if someone is unable to communicate dates, times or an account of what happened to them, their basic human rights are denied, as they really do not have access to justice.
Further guidance for that group will be made clear in advance of that date. We are actively looking at those questions, but I am not in a position today to confirm to the committee exactly what those arrangements will be.
The second principle is that the data that we use should be as up to date as possible. We do not want elections to be conducted on the basis of electorate data that is three, four or five years out of date.
