My aspiration is that the ILG will meet for the first time prior to the summer recess. I put on record my support and thanks to all the small retailers in Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale for coming through the terrible challenges of Covid.
The Government is actively engaged in the process. After the recess, I will chair the convention of the Highlands and Islands, which is a further opportunity for that regional perspective to be considered.
As today’s meeting is our last public meeting before the recess, I extend a hearty thank you to all those who have given evidence and helped the committee with its scrutiny of the Scottish Government’s work throughout the year, both before the lockdown and during it.
