It would be helpful if the Scottish Executive reviewed at an early date how the act is working, especially the strict risk assessment and evaluation criteria.
There is no provision in business motion S1M-2548 for progress on electoral reform or for a statement to the chamber before the Christmas recess. Will you remind ministers that important announcements should be made first to the Parliament and not through the media?

We have meetings scheduled for Tuesday 6 March, Tuesday 20 March and Wednesday 28 March—I suggest that we discuss those dates in future. We have not previously had notice of them, but in view of the Parliamentary Bureau's decision that Parliament should meet for a full day on Wednesdays, we will have to meet on Tuesdays.
I do not believe that any significant problems have been identified in the work that officials have done to date. Without making the announcement today, I would be as confident as I could be that, in due course, the response might be positive.
