We recognise that there is poverty in Scotland and that it is extremely important to support people in poverty wherever they are, but we live in an interconnected world and there is a lot of evidence that some of the low-income countries that Scotland supports, including Malawi, Rwanda and Tanzania, as well as those in south Asia, have been hit much harder by the global recession.
