We wrote to the Directorsof Education in the five local authorities setting out the dates and the estimatedcosts for the trial and asked each if they wished to be involved.

In 2012, former Secretary of State for Defence Michael Portillo described Trident as “completely past its sell-by date”, “a waste of money” and “no deterrent for the Taliban”.
