(S5O-02374) First, I thank Rona Mackay and all those who contributed to the Justice Committee’s inquiry into the use of remand in Scotland; its report was published shortly before summer recess and I responded to it on 23 August.
We have higher employment rates and lower unemployment rates than the United Kingdom—the Conservatives have never mentioned that—with 91,000 more people in employment than in the pre-recession peak. Youth unemployment rates continue to outperform UK rates.

The research on that has moved on and the regulations are now out of date. I am disappointed that the review does not seem to recognise the specific concerns about low-frequency noise.
