Although the minister is not in favour of a sunset clause, he said that he will consider including a clear date for review by strengthening the bill’s reporting provisions.
That is important because it will allow the code of ethics to be published and the new set of conduct regulations to be made, ensuring that the review will be of the up-to-date polices, practices and guidance.
Can the minister confirm that funding will continue beyond that date? I am not able to confirm that prior to the announcement of the budget on 4 December, as the member will know.
