Negative procedure
Instruments subject to the negative procedure will be made on the date specified in the SSI, unless a resolution to annul it is agreed by the Parliament.

While some areas have been developing SDS policies and procedures based on the original SDS strategy that pre-dates the Act, others do not have such policies and procedures in place over a decade after the legislation was introduced.
This would ensure that the list of specific articles used in serious crime remains up to date, will enable the UK Government to amend and add articles to the specified list in response to the actions of individuals who facilitate and commit serious crime, and respond quickly to emerging threats and evolving criminal tactics.
