The objective of conserving wild salmon is perfectly legitimate; however, it came to my attention that there was a separate motive for some of those who were involved in the organisation in seeking to increase the number of salmon that would be killed by anglers, which would increase the value and revenue of rod fishing at beats elsewhere on the rivers.
