Let us suppose that Fred Goodwin at the Royal Bank of Scotland retires, that Larry Fish, who is based in the US, becomes chief executive officer, that the board becomes 80 per cent United States and 20 per cent United Kingdom and that the company seeks to invest its profits in China and to develop in other parts of Asia.
