(S2O-4118) There is no official definition of a dedicated white-fish vessel. Currently, there are 142 Scottish-based fishing vessels of more than 10m in overall length that fish exclusively with demersal trawl gears or seines with mesh sizes that are generally associated with white-fish activity.

I declare an interest as a former member of the Robin Rigg Offshore Wind Farm (Navigation and Fishing) (Scotland) Bill Committee. At the time, it was obvious that the bill was about two small things: the question of navigation rights and the possible effect of the proposal on local fisheries.

I think that it was Dennis Canavan who raised a question about consultation criteria on an instrument whose name I cannot remember but which related to fishing. He raised the issue of someone who had made an objection as part of the initial consultation on the instrument but had not been informed of the changes that may have been made.
