It is not possible at present to estimate the number of vessels that will take part in the trial, as this will depend on the trial areas selected and consideration of an appropriate extraction rate. Fishing vessels will be selected following an application process that will be open to all vessels.

In the revaluation, I have provided well over a dozen briefing sessions to groups such as the Aberdeen City & Shire Hotels Association; the fish processing industry in the north-east; business associations in Huntly, Inverurie and Elgin; chambers of commerce and so on.

We also wonder whether sustainable fishing and farming will continue. They benefit the economy, especially all the fishing in the north of Scotland, but will fishing and farming damage the environment if we do not have the EU regulations any more?
