The traffic congestion in the middle of Nairn—where folk travelling to Aberdeen or further afield get frustrated as they travel through the 20mph zone, often idling for long periods at far below 20mph and polluting the town centre—is unnecessary and unhelpful to the amenity of the town.

The responses have been subject to a robust analysis and I will share these findings along with the next steps with the Committee in due course. 20mph Speed Limit: To provide an update on marketing and promotion of 20mph roll-out As part of our National Strategy for 20mph Speed Limits, officials worked in partnership with Scottish Government Marketing colleagues to develop a 20mph Toolkit to ensure that local authorities are consistent when rolling out 20 mph speed limits.
