We can safely take foreign vessels out of the calculation. Some deep-water lobster fishing may take place outwith the six-mile limit, but the bulk of such fishing will be within that zone.
If the original proposals were to be implemented, the use of fish meal for feeding on fish farms would, in effect, be banned and that would be rather absurd.
The maps are being provided to the fishing industry in any case. I do not think that the maps would add much to our understanding of the orders, so they would be superfluous if we were to ask for them.
We were concerned specifically about those issues that affect the fishing industry, but on a number of occasions we found ourselves discussing matters that were not primarily rural affairs or fishing issues.

Member State quotas of North Sea Nephrops were only introduced in 1994. Before then, all Member States fished against a single quota and so quotas were not allocated at UK level.
