On 18 April, Rhona Brankin, the then Deputy Minister for Culture and Sport, opened the museum's new wing and the project Zulu gallery, which enhance the important role that the museum plays in observing and illustrating our fishing heritage. That role is important because we should not forget the decline of Scotland's traditional industries.

This would require consultation with SIFAG members.We aim to include measures related to the proposed closures in the forthcoming inshore fishing Order. The creel-free measure will be subject to discussion between creel and trawl interests, FRS and the department.I hope this will promote better relationships between all fishing interests in the area.

My main disappointment is that it will not be for me to make the final announcement on the new Scottish sea fishing safety scheme. That initiative has taken time and will cost a lot of money.

Would it be appropriate to dispose of the papers of Mr Malcolm Chisholm, a man of strong principle and conviction, and deal with his papers as though they were not even fit for fish-and-chip wrappings?Everyone knows that the Scottish civil service, along with the Foreign Office, contains the brightest civil servants in Britain.

As many scallop farmers are suggesting that the contamination has come from the fish farms, would we be compensating the fish farms for perpetrating a disease that is affecting the shellfish men?

Fishery boards are made up of some lower and some upper proprietors—upper proprietors are people who fish the upper parts of the river. I wonder whether proprietors who run fishing businesses are really being consulted.
