It seems to be a tremendous opportunity to adopt the golden eagle because, as James Reynolds has said eloquently, the symbol of the eagle runs through the whole of Scottish history, from the distant past to the present and into the future. I presume that it is not a reserved matter for Westminster and that we can decide what our own national bird is.
