That project involves 100 GP practices in the most deprived areas, and those who are involved in it often talk to us about digital exclusion. I have a couple of points on that.
The important bit is a conversation that we have to have across sectors and across lines of responsibility. The imperative is there to do it: the “Physical Activity for Health” framework points out that 3,000 people die in Scotland every year from physical inactivity.
On top of that, the Government has cut £26 million from the funding. I know that some of the decisions that have been made recently are not directly connected to the £26 million cut, but it has not helped.
Ministers are aware of the need to ensure that every organisation gets to the point of being as efficient and productive as it can be and having the best outcomes for the people it serves.
I am happy to confirm that we are continuing to talk to the trade unions, although those talks have perhaps been dominated of late by the pay negotiations that are going on.
